I had intended to post after having surgery, and to post more regularly, however, obviously that hasn't happened. Things are going okay as far as my foot surgery goes. The doctor said it went well and my toe is now lined up perfectly. So far though, it still hurts. I have some days where it feels perfectly fine, and other days, like today, where it just aches. I have to think this is temporary. I hope. It's only been a week and a half. I am working from home because my doctor told me I could walk on it but to limit my walking and keep it elevated and iced. I can't very well do that from the office. Plus, it's my right foot so I can't drive and would have to take a cab back and forth to work. I kind of don't want to spend the money on that, or put my foot through walking to get a cab etc. It is going to be another few weeks, before I can wear sneakers, so I am going to work at home until then.
Working at home is going ok. I admit, the first week felt like a vacation. I worked while sitting on the couch watching tv. Needless to say, I billed hardly any hours. But I was able to keep my foot elevated so I think that was good. This week feels more like a normal work week. I am working at my desk in the extra bedroom with the tv off. Right now I am actually on the most boring conference call. Anyway, it's kind of amazing how less stressful everything is working at home. The deadlines don't get me all worked up. The partner isn't after me at the last minute for stuff. The cat is laying right on top of my arm as I am trying to type though.
I'll post more often. Promise.
